I guess us mere mortals can't change gear (including de-clutch) in 250 milliseconds or less without external aids and wouldn't anyway in normal day to day driving. It makes more sense for turbo equipped road registered cars to have a device (BOV?) to reduce lag and make the car more drivable.

Agree with JBT here. If we could all do a shift in 20 milliseconds BOVs and anti-lag would be un-necessary wouldn't they?

NB: I have NO IDEA!

Makes more sense to me for a car company to put a device on the car that would make it pass emissions and reduce excess noise from the motor rather than caring if there is a .5 second delay sometimes if throttle response.
