Hi,
Just wondering if a BP Turbo pressure plate will fit in my NA6 gearbox?

i beleive the BP clutches are 230mm and the 1800 mx5 ones are 225mm. (1600 ones are evn smaller)so no they dont bolt in to the flywheel but the gearbox splines are the same. theres a guy around here running a machined MX flywheel with a BP turbo clutch....

Ok, if I understand correctly (according to CT), I should be able to use the BPT flywheel and mate this with the BP pressure plate and all I would have to source is a BPT clutch and this will all fit in my NA6 gearbox?
As an FYI, I have recently bought a BPT for my NA6 and the gearbox is still attached. I am just sussing out what I should keep and what I should turf...

Well actually, you didn't mention BPT until now. CT was only referring to BP and B6 differences.

Ok, so I've googled a BPT engine and it would appear that they are the same as the BP. There is heaps of interchangeability in the BP engines but until you get them together on the floor and measure and fit them together, it's still guessing.
I would say that you should carry the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate forward from your current gearbox (assuming that's the one you are going to use) to avoid compatibility issues. The upgrade is then a clutch kit to suit the B6 as that's the flywheel you will be using.

The BPT and BP flywheels and pressure plates are completely different and not interchangable. If you buy a BP clutch you will need to chuck the BPT flywheel and buy a BP one.
Don't be too concerned though as BP flywheels cost bugger all. I got one for $33 from MX5 Plus in Brissie (who are excellent by the way).

Just to make sure everyone is clear here.....BPT flywheels and clutches are 230mm and mx5 BP 1800 clutch/flywheel are 225mm and they are not cross compatible , you must use the corresponding flywheel with the clutch.
