CHECK YOUR EARTH POINTS!!!!!!
Disconnect the earth points to the chassis and engine block and clean them up with some fine emery paper.
Bad earths cause ignition problems and burn out coils so check that first.....
Also there have been cases where the CAS loom gets faulty wiring particularly where its cable tied to the inlet manifold causing the wires to break and cause problems.

My apologies JBT.
But I'm with you. I had \"good quality\" almost new (like 3 weeks old) aftermarket leads that broke down and caused a miss every time the car got hot in traffic and put under load. Once the traffic started flowing again things cooled down and the miss stopped. They were replaced with new Mazda leads and I haven't had a problem since.

If it's doing it whilst hot then it's most likely leads. Mine did the same when the leads failed. You would drive the car for a while whilst the everything was cool and it was all fine and dandy but after a while when everything heated up it would start missing and run like a Subaru.
Anyway swapped lead and plugs at the same time and when we pulled them out you could see that one plug was fuelly over the rest. Swapped the leads and good as gold.
So I reckon it's the leads. probably the easiest way to check will be to get it hot and get it to the stage where it's missing. Stop the car and pull the leads and check the spark plugs. Look for one plug that is clearly wet or smells like fuel if so this lead will most like be buggered. I would be very surprised if any other fault were to replicate this fault short of a single pole on a coil pack being blown (IE only sparking 1 of the 2 leads which) which you should have removed from the equation already.

didnt need to extend the wires for the cold side. so.. that should be peaches.

fark... hope its not leads.. i keep going to replace them but none of the shops (auto one, repco, super craps) have em in stock when ever im there and like i said they seemed fine with the vault meter

either way ill head up to mania tomorrow and see what the problem is. if its leads then i might have money left over something else

went to mania yesterday and tried afew things, was made easier as we could trouble shoot things on their dyno... which lead to some interesting power readings
checked the AFM, plug leads, ERG wireing but the problem turned out to be the cam angle sensor. it wasnt faulty but wasnt seated properly
so only really need a clean and a fiddle and then it ran fine.
done a power run and it reg 91RWK!!!!????
they have recently change the hard drive though so their not sure if it needs to be recalibrated but they said previously it had match reading of other dyno's in the area on different cars.
but back on topic, just want to say thanks to everyone that gave their 2c as it did help narrowing down to the cause of the problem.

excellent news irwin  ..........so had you mucked around with the cams, or did it just work its own way out of place??? :?
coupla high readings on that dyno last coupla days, could need recalibrating i think, but hey, keep the sheet mate, handy to flash around for braggin' rights..........
