I am very pleased to announce that the MX5 club of NSW will be starting a new North Coast Chapter to the club, much along the lines of the Canberra Chapter - which has been running very successfully for some years now.
We have organised an informal meeting along the lines of the Canberra Coffee and Lies, which undoubtedly you have read about in Club Talk and Club Events from time to time.
The first meeting of the new chapter will be held on Saturday the 14th October at Juicy Beans cafe at 365 Hunter St in the Newcastle CBD starting at 10am.
You are cordially invited and we sincerely hope you can attend.
Please mark it in your diaries!
If you have other friends who own an MX-5, or 2, please invite them along as well, even if they aren't members yet.
The North Coast chapter will arrange its own runs and events, and all of these will be fully supported by the NSW Club.
This first meeting is designed to get you all together so you can get to know each other and work out what you'd like to do.
Xmas is coming up soon, and the organising of your Xmas party would probably be a good start.
Obviously, as the main club and Canberra's Xmas parties are heavily subsidised by the club, we would be happy to do likewise for the North Coast Chapter.
The new chapter will have the full support of the NSW Club as far as money and advice goes, and you will also get your own spot in Club Events, so that all the other members throughout NSW are also informed on what you guys are doing up there, and perhaps even join in with you on some events.
At the initial meeting, some of the committee members, will be in attendance to offer what help we can, but I must stress that we are doing this for you because we really want to foster the fun and enjoyment of our cars together with like-minded people and the best enjoyment is when you can share it with friends.
Please do your best to come along to the initial meeting. I'm sure you will enjoy it, and I'm sure the enthusiasm I've seen from the members up there that I know will be infectious.
No RSVP is required, just turn up on the day.
If you do require some further information, please PM me or post here.

Hang on, I thought Bevan was the metrosexual cross - dresser. I didn't realise he would be in attendance as well. I'm just the guy with the car that has stopped being confused and has worked out what gender it is....

Well he could be in attendance! Perhaps you could both arrive like Batman and Robin with your daks on the outside! Holy unsavoury scary moment Batman!

Another MX-5 chapter i'll have to visit next time i'm "over east".
The congrats should go to the NSW committee...
I joined teh club within amonth or so of buying my first MX5 and stayed a member for a number of years. Then my life got busier with more work and other commitments and it was rare that I had teh opportunity to partake in any of teh clubs events to a point where eventually I decided not to renew the membership as there simply wasn't much happening for members in my area and I didn't have the inclination to wake up early on the weekend to make the trip to Sydney for anumber of events.
I explained this to a couple of teh committee members who had asked why I had left the club and they were happy to take onboard my thoughts and opinions.
I saw a few events I wanted in on so re-joined the club...
Committee members put the idea to me and I am happy to see where it goes from here. I expect this first meeting will attract some ideas on what different people would like to see the club doing in this area, I've met a few MX5 owners in teh area and at least one of them willd efinately be coming along to get some more info on the club and put in some ideas on local events.
It's going to be a great opportunity for not just the guys and girls living in this area, but also all members of the club who will benefit from extra runs and outings...
I a, really looking forward to being part of it

Go get 'em Sean.
The NSW Committee really hopes this works out well for you guys up in the Hunter region.
You're blessed with some great roads up there!
Hopefully we'll even need an Even Further North Coast Chapter with all the guys and gals up around Byron, Coffs, Tamworth etc.
How about it Kuntry Kus?

KK has already shown interest in getting things moving further north, I reackon it's a great idea to get a few chapters going, gives all of us the options of more great events to choose from
It's certainly going to a lot easier with the support of the long and well established NSW club, I'm sure I'll be chasing you guys for lots of info along the course..
