Man that was a huge day..... the biggest dodgy day ever seen in Australia I reckon....including 5 star catering . Just sorry I could only do 4 hours duty but a hellava lot seemed to get done. Great to meet and catch up with so many good people.
The neighbours must have thought the MX-5 Mafia had taken over the street .

Thanks to JBT for installing my new BLING... (photos to come).
I got there at 8.30am and left just after 3pm and saw about, I dunno, 150 people in the garage at any one time
Never seen so much DODGY in all my life.
Highlights................. Succesfully taking the Orange bits out of 3 sets of indicators without cracking ONE set !
Managing to consume SPY's ThermoNuclear Hot Wing Sauce and managing to make it back to the Coast without stopping for a bathroom ONCE !
Catching Monsqueek asleep at her wheel after a 24 hour shift... Ummm sorry about that.
Lowlights....... actually Lowlifes !! Jules the bastard swapped my Magnum Voodoo for his inferior smaller version and it took me 40 KM to work out he'd done it. Just goes to show you having a smaller knob is not always that noticable !
Secondly.................... The beer arrived too late for my liking !
Thanks to Uncle Arthur for once again allowing so many \"enthusiasts\" to invade his home. And thanks to everyone who contributed food, deep fryers, beer etc etc... I had an awesome day.[/b]

Oh my god, I am SO F@#*#NG TIRED.
I was running between cars so much I barely had time to eat. Dodgy day was not without issues though.
Jules, I think I SMS'd the right number, but you can have the thermoswitch controller from the head that kitkat gave me (thanks!!!) if you want. I can either post it or you can give me a call tomorrow and pick it up from Ipswich.
Paul's car was leaking water like a sieve - we suspect a dodgy water pump - I think the inner seal in it shat itself from poor clearances. Poor guy.
I knew Jules' car was possibly going to have that issue with the camshaft sprocket - it was expected - 50/50 chance but I'm glad it's sorted. I knew exactly what the problem was when we tried cranking and it didn't start. I hope Malibu stopped ticking too!
And the AC - I insist I have to share responsibility for that. I asked \"You guys happy with that?\" and they were. :p But I can't believe how pissweak that pipe was - the bar didn't even hit the pipe and it split
But overall, great meeting some new faces, good food and lots of yakking, ratchet turning and good times.
Oh and I let saboteur have a drive of my car on the way home. I've never heard the BOV go off so much! Dirty ricer!

It was a great day, a big thanks to UA for his great kindness in having us all.
Mr Tooth.... i found the other lifter, it was in the driveway and must have fallen out of the blanket. Im not sure if you need it asap... if you do im sure we can work something out.

Biggest ever, for sure. We should have had the Guinness Book of Records there. Before I left early I counted 13 MX5's (4 under UA's house) and about 22 people.

Well, I've just woken up - it was well qfter 11pm when I pulled up stumps last night. That was after reinstalling the interior of my car, and cleaning up the mix of car debris, wings debris, sauce debris, and clearing the smell of A/C gas out from under the house - man that stuff lingers
While I am yet to take Max for a spin to test our her new heavy duty clutch, I'm just gonna say two things - BSDDII was just about as much fun as I could ever have playing with cars with such great company and so much dodginess,
and
putting the gearbox BACK in an MX5 is frought with challenges. The biggest hint I can now provide is have someone push on the front of the motor to tilt it back on the mounts so the prop shaft slots in nicely. Otherwise it is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
Other memorable moments of the day:
The look on Wayne's face when he saw that I REALLY do have a turbo to put on the car,
The wicked look on Jules' face when he found that someone had mysteriously swapped his Voodoo for Wayne's Magnum.
\"Please regain control of the cottage.\"
Yes - the hot sauce REALLY IS HOT!!!!!!! (my sink is sparkling after washing the dregs out in the kitchen last night).
Twist, crack, hisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
The moment when the gearbox FINALLY slotted home (after about 30-40 minutes of fighting)
Dustin at Repco realising that just cause he watches drift videos and goes to Broadbeach carpark doesn't mean he ACTUALLY knows anything about cars.
The moment when the gearbox finally slotted home.
The gobsmacked look on my ever loving and long suffering fiancee when she came home at lunchtime and found the entire street, yard, and under the house filled with MX5s and their owners, in various states of greasiness (wings and sauce, grease and dirt as in my case). She said she never thought DD would be so HUUUUUGE!!!!
and a big plug for Richard at MX5 Plus for the exchange flywheel. Couldn't have done it in the timeframe without it. I've seen the workshop and there's lost of cool toys out there .......
Thanks to all for an amazing day - and so much fun. A huge thanks to OMY005 for bringing around the compressor and airtools - the bell housing and PPF bolts would have been a complete biyatch of a job without them..... and after KAM bringing hsi workshop creeper, I've decided I want one

Friday was fun, sorry i couldnt stay any longer UA hopefully everything went smoothly with the gearbox removal! And i hope you like the clutch!! Pedal pressure is a bit stiffer than stock, nice feeling i thought.
This looked like it would of been a great day! Too bad i had to work, i'll try get it off for the next one, or we could make it a sunday
