Drift practice *CHANGED TO SAT 23RD*

Postby Sheck » Sun Sep 17, 2006 1:55 pm

Hey guys, just letting you know i'll be at QR this friday nite for some drift practice. Come to support or come to drive either way its a fun night.

Drift starts around 5:30 till 9 or 10. Entry is $10 and driving is $80 on the track (includes use of skid pan) and $50 on the skid pan. Skid pan is an approx 20-25m by 10-15m ractangle with a couple of witches hats in there, looks like fun if your learning. (drivers still must pay entry fee :? )

They usually have passenger runs all night so i'll be more than happy to give anyone a ride. I'll be taking both my helmets so all you'd need to bring is long sleeve shirts and long pants, you'll need these anyway as it gets pretty cold out there.

Cheers
Dave

Drift was fantastic!
Didnt break anything and had a ball. Had a bit of trouble at the start casue i didn't have the power to peel of 4th easily (ie when the revs are a bit low) so i just started feathering th ethrottle in 3rd which allowed me to get smooth lines for most of the course (end of the dipper needed 4th gear but i figured i'd just flick it insted of trying to keep the slide going).

The brace butters helped me make made a huge difference to the controllability of the car on the edge. Angles that i would previously spin out at i was managing to hold - which came as a huge suprise the first time!! I was comming into the dipper and i over shot it a little and went to full lock i'm thinking oh damn around we go but no it just held so i planted it and the car just stayed at max angle!!!

Cant wait to get my new cams in (found some second hand HKS 264deg cams in japan that i bought which should be here by mid week) that should help me peel off 4th like theres no tomorrow!!!

I also put on the wing off my brothers car but mounted it right at the back of the boot with the stands as wide as they would go. Look pretty funny but pretty cool at the same time - and achived my goal of making the car look longer which inturn showed off the angels much better 8)

No pics because it was night time, but the next time i'm out during the day i'll try round up some.

Dave
