Happy birthday to me!!!! *WITH PICS*

Postby Boags » Sat Sep 16, 2006 7:25 pm

 Early birthday presents are great!

I had a fairly specific list of car things I wanted this year, and windblocker was on the top!! My fantastic girlfriend tried to search for one, but didn't really know what the stock one looked like, and there are heaps of aftermarket varieties to choose from. So, very confused, she asked me where she could get one from and what does it look like...

A HUGE thank-you to Richard from MX5-Plus, he had a few for me to choose from, so I just chose the best one, and asked him to put it aside for the better half to collect!

As we are going away to Thailand next week, and my 21st is on Wednesday, we took the opprotunity to get it in the car this weekend!

Image

I was too excited to get pics of me drilling new holes (becasue of the style bars) and only remembered the camera while there was tightening of bolts...

Image

A closer look at the bolts...

Image

Still trying to get those bloody bolts in...

Image

And there you go... Pretty crappy pic though, too dark.

Image

As you can see it has been raining here...

Image

Then she made me go inside while she wrapped it for me   :P and I had to close my eyes so it was a surprise...

Total installation time - 2 hours. 45mins of rain in the middle, and a bung drill, so 30mins round trip down to bunnings for a $30 special!! And about 15mins trying to rethread the one bolt which I let the young lady do up, which she cross-threaded...

It makes a huge difference! My left arm and leg no longer freeze as the air is sucked out of the footwell! Very happy Boag!!!

Aspley Superior tyre service

They get them from a mob in sydney (who are also on the internet, and quite easy to find), but don't order from them direct, it is a little more, but you have someone to yell at. (mine were delayed a few days)

Happy birthday, person with most excellent name! Ignore the windblocker-knockers. Windblockers are great - I just reinstalled mine on Saturday and I'm glad I did.

Aww how cute, matching whitegoods! :D

Judging by those photos I’d think you were related to Wilson from that “Home Improvement\" program.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
