Cheap Bling Ideas
Howdy Doody All
I am contemplating some small bling updates to the interior of my NB8A, currently involving respraying the vent rings silver, possibly the center console surround (silver) and door handle pockets (silver), as well as the cam cover (red with white letters)...
On top of this i have also considered getting a special gear boot/surround made up in stainless. Something like the H pattern you see at the base of the gear stick in some ferrari's etc. Basically i want to spice up the life of the interior, but keep it as \"stock looking\" and neat as possible...
What i am really after is some pictures of your bling so i can get some inspiration...

If you want to BLING the interior but keep it tasteful (and sorry i dont have pics handy at the moment)
Ebay Bling Bars
Voodoo Magnum Knob
Plus all the things you are doing.
leather seats......(in the future)
Contrasting door trim (looks the goods)
New pedals ??? (OK too much bling!!!)
That enhances the interior of an NB without going nuts !
I need to dig up some pics of my 99 for you. It was simply.... lovely.
Cheers and good luck with the work

scuff plates

chrome dial rings and polished needle hats

stick on vent ring covers, cheap.. nice gear nob, and gear surround

they really pick things up, and arnt all that pricey..
if you want to go further leather gear boot and handbrake covers are worth while. just try and match them to interior colours.
then theres pedals as mentioned by another and leather seats but thats getting a bit pricey.

I like the dial rings and needle hats. Where'd you get them from, and how easy was it to install? I get the feeling the instrument cluster wouldn't be easy to pull apart.
As for the original question, I did the same spraying of vent rings (as well as lots of other trim bits) about 2 weeks ago, and pending good weather this weekend, will take some pictures and put them up.
In all honesty, it's pretty much just the way I want it all, so if you wanna do it on the cheap, and it's the right look for you, do it.

i recently did the DIY chrome vent rings, and this weekend will be doing the door handles and my interior brace bar as well. the only other bling i have is the voodoo (love it) and i have a chrome surround for instruments rather than the chrome rings...

DO NOT paint the interior door handle cups!!!!!
They will get scratched the first time you use them, and after a couple of weeks, they will look awfull.
Go to a wrecker, and buy the chrome plated cups out of an old 626 and use them.
Even brand new, they only cost about $40 a pair and they stay nice and shiny for a long time.
