Between 3-12months I'll know for sure :D :D
I totally agree with Craig's sentiments regarding \"building up vs buying (sorry Ryan)\".
That's why Malibu won't be going turbo. At this stage if it's closer to 3 months then I'll go SP. If it ends up being more like 12 months, then I'll go SE +3k mods, as the SP is getting a bit long in the tooth for my liking.

I wonder if the lack of VVT is choking the dyno results. HANG ON...doesn't the limiter kick in at 6500 on the SE???

Not if you want it to be eligible to race in prod sports. Turbo mods are not allowed. 8)

So I gather Boyracer is Lou?

Ummm Big Lou, do you remember taking the wheel of my car (Titanium SE) around Wakefield a little while ago to show me the (not so) quick way round (drifting) through the corners??? ;P

I was curious as to what you've done to your road car other than exhaust to give you the extra power? And what is the reason you haven't applied the same mods to your raod car as you have your race car?

I always remember a bit of drifting... :D :D

My road car only has the SP motorsport exhaust and a Turbosmart Kompact BOV...

I am happy with the way it goes, way fast enough as a road car...keep all the bigger mods. for the race car.

Those wondering about the death @ 5.5k rpm - yep, both the turbo and injectors were running outta puff!

1st run with EXEDE fitted netted 149.9rwkw @ 10psi. Wind it up to 11psi, air temps went up, injectors getting too close to max for comfort and gained all of 1.3rwkw! Took it back later to try and remove the 50HP NOS hit it seemed to have @ 5-5.5k rpm(3-5k rpm kinda doughy, 5-5.5k rpm it feels like someone's put a rocket up it through to redline!!) The dyno sheet is actually quite opposite to the way it runs on the road. Lachaln decided it was a bit too close for comfort and took some timing out and now I have the 143.?rwkw. The frustrating part is the hesitation is still there. This \"hesitation\"seems to be a problem with the ECU. FM in the states have a fix and mine is one the way.

Personally, I'd get the kit and the FM \"hesitation\" fix and leave it at if you weren't looking to do more mods. I on the other hand cannot 8)

Oh yeah, standard BOV still in place. Still up in the air about whether I will change it or not.

I was at Wheelspin this afternoon and they had a plug in ECU loom to use the new Wolf ECU on an SE, or could make one to suit a motec.

I'll try and post a photo of it soon.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Hmmmmmmmmm, VERY interested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they can knock up a plug in loom for the Wolf and keep all the dash lights goin', I'm in for sure.

I figure my standard manifold/turbo/injectors will soon part company with the motor, especially if this is gonna be available from Wolf.

Okibi, do ya know if it was a custom loom or one Wolf have been workin' on? Either way I'm SOOPER DOOPER keen!

What other mods was this SE sporting?

THE REAL BORIS wrote:The stock bov has a reputation for leak; I cannot comment beyond that. However, the spring is weak enough to allow even a minor vacuum to keep the valve open. Shutting this valve earlier, with a stronger spring action (the GFB swap is adjustable) enables the turbo to boost earlier by closing the bypass at a higher manifold vacuum. You will notice that the car has more low down torque as a result.

And, if it is leaking, top end will improve too?

150rwkw has been shown by all the FM work to be the limit on stock injectors (as I am sure you well know). But the bov is hiding there as the only thing you have not changed yet. Bet it's shaking in it's boots. I recently fitted a new steel inlet elbow to the throttle body and the bov line was too restrictive, causing flutter on changes. I m/c it out and now it's great. So, with all your mods. you may need an upgraded bov anyway?

Guess I have to add BOV to the list of the things on their way out!

It's one Wheelspin themselves have produced, but will probably sell them as a package deal with the new version of Wolf.

I'm trying to get them to produce maps suitable for STOCK SEs, but like most "stock" maps they'd be sold on the condition that they're used as a starting point for the Wolf to be tuned to each specific SE.

The SE in Question is getting some other nice upgrades

Not a chance!!!!!!!!!! 150rwkw does seem to be about the limit with std manifold/injectors/turbo. All other items changed seems to be netting about the same figures I have + a bit but no where near 200rwkw.

If ya want a good read, check out the Mazda-speed Miata site in the states, some of the members on there have gone further than most of us here in OZ and no one is getting anywhere near 200rwkw without getting really serious with mods.

Just depends on how deep ya pockets are, mine now have holes in 'em!

Around 180rwkw with turbo/manifold/injectors/ECU and I'll be a happier boy.

C'mon AJ, don't be weak, turbo the biatch!
