idea for turbo manifold

Postby Fatty » Thu Sep 07, 2006 8:52 pm

so this is my current exhaust manifold.

so i was wonderring, can i just get a turbo flange , cut the bottom of the pipes as below ( see where i've put a line thru where i'd cut it), then whack the flange on and weld her up?

so just convert my current manifold to a turbo manifold?

is this possible? i have some ideas as to why this might not work, but thought it was worth asking .

The idea is sound and has been done before on other engines. However, I don't think it will work on the MX5 because of the lack of space.

You have a PM Fatty.
