I will be going down in the RX8 unless my 5 is back on the road, will be bringing a friend, he may come in his WRX or Maserati twin turbo. This guy is one fast driver and should show us a thing or two.
Look forward to seeing everyone.

Seriously this guy will blow your socks off, I have known this guy for 30+ years (do not want to give away my age) and he has a natural ability to drive like the devil. If some one is hurt on the day we will have a plastic surgeon to clean up the mess.
I hope my car is up & running as I have high hopes of it. The weak link is the nut behind the wheel.

Ren,

Mate just interested in those 2 cars (and the RX-8 being a titanium colour is a bonus!) not those plastic surgeon bonuses! I'll be after you for a few laps...call it a friendly test drive!

I know your 5 is a marvel for a 1.6 but the 8 is what I want!

I have done a track day with the RX8 club, you will be surprised at how fast they are in standard trim with good road tyres. In fact I do not think a road going 5 will stay with them (depending of driver).

Yes my 5 is a marvel and soon to be a mind blower, but what you want is not what you can get.

Tips for sure but unluckily for me I wont be there. A BIG birthday party the night before for a friend will rule out any chance that I'd make it to the track and be under the limit so.................Phillip Island here I come. :D

Back to the tips.
1. Do a quick bleed or fluid change to the brakes. Check you have plenty of pad depth.
2. Pump your tyres up to 37psi cold, monitor your pressures after each race and NEVER let it get above 41psi.
3. If you haven't done an oil / filter change in the last 10K do it before you race.
4. Listen to your instructor.
5. Have fun. Don't think you will set lap records 'cause you won't.
6. Have fun. What did your instructor say?
7. Have fun.
8. Have fun.
9. Learn what your MX5 limits are.
10. Learn what your limits are.
11. Have fun.

That's it. :D

Oh did I say have fun? Stupid really 'cause that's all you can do.
