Rim size recommendations

Postby bush_pig » Mon Sep 04, 2006 12:08 pm

Greetings all,

My first post ! Just acquired a beeeeautiful 12/90 Limited Edition... it is in pristine condition ( was sitting in a mates garage for the last 7 years ) and I am absolutely loving it !

A quick question though... the car is fully original.. no mods at all. I am thinking of removing the rims and storing them away for the day that I sell it ( which will be a long way off ! ). I want to put another set of rims on and need advice on what size is better. I would like to go up in size from the 14\" rims.

What are the advantages / disadvantages of this ? What is the ideal rim size for this model ?

Any advice appreciated.

Yes it is a beautiful car, the 90 LE. Congrats.

If you've got the BBS rims then treasure them always!

They'll probably give the most compliant, lightest, most responsive feel you'll ever get in an NA.

Also...store the gear Knob......if it has a number on it.

16 is my personal choice as far as looks go.......15 is the better practical choice. 16's are a littlke more limited as far as tyre choice goes. This is not a problem if you like tyres like C Drives Toyos ......& so on. 16\" wheels only become an issue when you like very streetable semi slicks.
