PiperXross or K&N for MX5 SE

Postby blackster » Tue Aug 22, 2006 1:55 pm

Unfortuantly the search function hasnt revealed anything on here. So can anyone provide me with the model number for a K&N, piperxross or equivalent flat panel filter for 04 MX5 SE.

K&N are showing part number 33-2676 http://www.knfilters.com/search/product ... od=33-2676 as universal flat panel filter for all 04 mx5's. Is the airbox on the SE the same as the N/A NB airbox?

Thanks

Ok, thanks. The top of the airbox appears different because of the turbo intake, although the snorkel is exactly the same. I guess they share the same filter element....

That airbox looks a hole heap better then the standard box at least its not sucking air from the engine bay. Any idea on what its worth? The HP gain posted by SP motorsport is rather questionable 145hp to 212hp jump @ the wheels with just an upgraded intercooler & airbox?

Yeh I'd be interested in one myself but from what I hear their a tad $$$. Maybe that power increase is exhaust too? :?

a free-er flowing intake will usually increase boost at the same time so that power rise would probably be realistic, if the standard air box is restrictive that is.

Perhaps we could organise a group buy? Doesnt have to be from there. I dont think that incorporates the exhaust because they have another dyno showing 144rwkw with exhaust, intake and intercooler

Flyin Miata also do a whole swag of SE bits.

I think MX5 Mania sell both FM and SPM so ask them?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
