TEIN SS SUSPENSION SETUP

Postby fish » Tue Aug 01, 2006 2:34 pm

Have just had Tein SS Suspension fitted and before my first track day on it I
was wondering if anyone can suggest what to run the damping at for track
days this particular one will be at Queensland Raceway

. I am currently in the middle ie: 8 clicks from full hard on both front & back

I'm not sure about teins but i have cusco and the fronts are on highest and the backs are on 3 i think. It is a bumpy track so you dont want it too hard. I'm guessing it would depend on if you had sway bars too.

Start soft.

increase the stiffness to control bump oscillation (if it skips over bumps you've gone too far)

Decrease the stiffness of the end with less grip (eg: oversteer = make rear softer than front).

As Matt Said,
but it will also make a difference depending on tyre pressures...

IE: if im running 36psi hot in my tyres i can only go to the 4th hardest till it skips on the track.. if i run 34psi hot in my tyres i can go to the 2nd hardest...

Generally i run the front 1 notch harder than the rear... but thats the way i like my setup..
and it varys from track to track.. softer at OP compared to EC as its a bumpier track.
and the weather will affect it as well.. so its always changing from day to day and track to track..

I started with my street setup and went from there.. trying full soft and hard.. and finding the spot i liked :)

I settled on 13/11, 16 being the hardest, for QR. Felt much more neutral than 13/13.
