what gear on dyno?

Postby irwin83r » Tue Aug 01, 2006 12:28 am

hey just wondering what gear is usualy used on the mx5 on the dynos?

thing is.. im running my chubby tyres at the moment 225/50R15  how much will this effect the reading? will it be the same as the amount it effects the speedo and alike?

if so couldnt you \"rig\" a dyno reading by running say... two space savers for the run

Yeah - 2 conditions though...

1 - You have to come to newcastle to pick it up...
2 - Everyone can call you a cheat

Tick for Sean :)

It will be a fun day irwin.

Everyone running in 4th and the car with the dodgy wheels running in 5th

That will fix your little gold wagon. :P

EDIT:

Dyno's record power/torque output not acceleration time so I don’t think wheel diameter will affect the result.

i see mr brown.

im not really fussed about winning anything as im pretty sure i wont, just latter down the track if i get another dyno reading and have say a new ecu :D it will be hard to compare or see direct gain if there is other things that may have changed the reading such as new tyres.

just got me thinkin is all hehe
