QLD- Club Run Toowoomba 20 August

Postby Ruby95 » Tue Jul 18, 2006 12:50 pm

Due to the late cancellation of the Bum Freezer run to Stanthorpe an alternate run is being organised.

A run to Toowoomba is in the Planning stage, details will be updated as they come to hand. It is envisaged at this stage that it will start from MACCAS at Goodna a Morning Tea stop half way, where we will be joined from members from Toowoomba, we will then find a back road to Toowoomba where we will have lunch.

Darn! It's Ann's birthday on the 20th, so that means I have to stay home and make her breakfast in bed... So I can't come out to play that day..... :(

My suggestion was morning tea at Lake Apex park Gatton, then the Heifer Creek Road up onto the Downs, with an early lunch at the Rudd Pub at Nobby. That would leave people free to catch the end of the Leyburn Sprints, and the car show that starts at 1pm. Leyburn is only 50k or so from Nobby, last I heard Keith was going to confer with Peter S before posting an official route and timetable

Ahah. Just checked the club website.

Brisbane Chapter :- Meet at McDonalds Goodna at 8:30 for an 9:00 Departure

Morning tea is at Apex Park at Gatton. You can BYO or there is a coffee shop on the site with light refreshments. Toowoomba people will join us there.

Then we take the back roads to Nobby pub for lunch, after lunch those who feel inclined will travel to Leyburn Sprints which is held on the site of the 1949 Australian Grand Prix the first Australian Grant Prix to be held in Qld.

Other meals are available.
