So the 1800 engine is out of the question now  :( cause every insurance company I rang wouldn't insure me unless I got an engineers certificate and rang a few engineers and they said looking at the whole picture I would need to upgrade the front brakes to the 1.8s as well...all in all to much money for a slightly stronger motor. So the new 1600 long nose is going in on Wednesday and I'm doing the intake while I'm at it as well. I'm also chucking my cam gears and plugs/leads from my old motor into the new one and advancing the new one as well....so its all back to the same it was before it broke I guess, with the exception of intake and maybe headers :P will keep you updated on the progress if anyone is interested...

I am going with Shannons for insurance...I got a ripper deal with them cause I am hooked up haha plus I got unlimited modifications all covered. WIll post again soon

With what you save by buying a 1.6 you can get some cams to go with the cam gears and do some porting and polishing while the head is off
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Well the new LONG NOSE 1.6 is in and I'm loving it! I didn't realise how much power I had lost over time...I also got the Mania intake done, fixed my short shifter, replaced my left rear caliper (it was ceased).

I am a huge fan of the Mania intake...it adds a bit of torque ( the 1600s need as much help as they can get! ) and sounds awesome both at low end rpm and high end!

The ride feels so much smoother now...next to come is new 16\" wheels, headers and a full exhaust system.

Yep - good to know it's gone to a good home. :D

Worked really nicely with the full intake, extractors and exhaust set up ... :D

Can't wait to start modding my 1.8. I'm controlling myself 'til after the dyno and track days so I know what differences I'm making. :)
