we seem to be able to organise informal runs, skidpan/LVMA days, eating rib days and a bundle of other things without the blessing of "the club" not to mention it would probably be seen to be a "young" thing.
Whhhhyyyy notttttt A couple of the positive respondents to this thread are "mature age" club members. It's the sort of thing that may be welcome as a bit different to normal club activities and inject some extra interest. "The club" may also be able to organise a discounted rate.
Anyway, I thought we were past all this "young thing" vs "cardigan set" and motor sport vs Sunday drive BS.

I often attend weeknight karting sessions organised by the VW Car Club, and a couple of years back the MX5 Club was (and may still be) the holder of the InterClub GoKart Challenge.
Archerfield Speed Karts does night time deals - last time I went (couple of weeks back) on a Monday night it was $50 for three 15 lap sessions on the BIIIIIG Track - we had enough for two groups, and we had a ball.
I think 2 for Tuesdays is another thing they do.

blessing????...............you don't need to ask permission from anyone to have it as a club event........it just means that the people in the club who DON'T come on this board regularly, if at all, have the chance to enjoy something like this & it boosts the numbers/enjoyment factor by involving as many as possible.............
& you're being a little "ageist" aren't you????...........or could it be you're scared one of the "old fellas" will come out & whip your arse on the track???.............
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

1/ Then everyone (should) have to be a member of the club of which, crivens, is not everyone who comes HERE.[insert as many rolling eyes as you like here]
2/ The idea was suggested here, so why should someone hijack a thread so it can be endorsed as a club event.[insert even more rolling eyes]
3/ Ageist, I didn't see too many cars leave on the extended run last Sunday [insert rolled eyes staring incoherently in AJ's direction] even the uber young'ns went home.
4/ as far as being scared of
who will come out & whip my arse on the track, I'm too scared of having to help them "wipe" their arses after their cardigans get caught in the sprockets of their Karts [insert emoticon of eyes fallen out of socket because they rolled too much]"old fellas"
5/ Bet no-one saw me handing Abyss certain documents for future club events last Sunday neither
Then again when I say
I'd have to further qualify it by saying I ain't seen either of your mugs there, strangely some were organised here in a public forum but not endorsed by the club GASP [insert emoticon of tongue poking so far out it can touch it's owners arse]we seem to be able to organise informal runs, skidpan/LVMA days, eating rib days and a bundle of other things
So the question remains "when the f*&@^@%# are we going", spits out big wad of baccy. [insert emoticon of redneck]
Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

I'm not sure about that ..
ma·ture
Having reached the limit of its time; due: a mature bond.
No longer subject to great expansion or development.
Perhaps a little quarrelsome, with a squeeze of factiousness a healthy mix of tomfoolery and generous lashings of hoon.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
