Fosc Oran Park GP 15 & 16 July

It look like only 6 MX5 will be at this event, it is a shame so few 5's are going. This is a fun weekend & well worthwhile to consider in the future.

Sadly the racing schedule at this time of year is very hectic with the V8 supercar supports next weekend in Qld, round 4 of the NSW state championships the weekend after, the 1hr race two weekends after that and round 5 of the state champs the fortnight after that. Phew, I'm already tired which is why I withdrew from this meeting.

That said, there will be some excellent sports car races to watch with cars from the 50s, 60s right up to modern cars racing door to door as well as the regularity competitors. I'll will be there having a gawk on saturday. 8)

There was one in particular Capri vs Mustang on sunday which was nasty, haven't heard how the drivers are. There was a heap of accidents in the wet too. It was a good display about how far car design has come with the more modern cars like ours, easily coping in the wet compared to the older cars - even though for most of them they were all on the same rubber. Lots of dented cars and egos but some good racing to be seen. 8)

Steve Land and Bob Cox were the drivers hurt. Bob is out of Hospital, but Steve is still in I believe. Not sure of the extent of injuries.

Looks pretty nasty, but looks like both drivers are back home now.
