Either are infinitely and easily tuned to suit whatever state your engine is in. The Imp engine is a gem for tuning and can deliver serious HP (relatively speaking). And before you all chime in with whinges about SU tuning - I run three 13/4" Sus on the Buchanan with zero problems and very little maintenance required. All you need is a good idea of what needles to start with (and there are good lists around - I think I have one on an old floppy disc(!) somewhere. A dyno for initial setup makes the job really easy. A weber will deliver even better results, but cost a bit more to start with.
Ditto, but if u find the su's thin on the ground, there is a japanese equivalent released with the datsun 1500 GX head that is comparable to a 1 1/2 inch SU. I found them identical to the su's to tune, and not too difficult to source (i ran 3 x 1 3/4 su's too on an eh red 6 back in 1995) hitachi brand i think they were... the float bowls had a squared off cylinder on top instead of the bottle neck setup, but they were interchangeable with the su floats, they really impressed the 'Italian' boys with their alfas... I wouldnt mind getting me a mini again... (But i don't fit in them anymore

Edit: I forgot... Twin strombergs replaced theSU's on the Eh ute when it became a daily driver. Once tuned they were trouble free for about 4 years and i sold the ute with them... but they were manual choke...
