well ill let the brisbane guys organise the meet up there but as a sugestion maybe a meet up at springwood, if you leave there by 6:00pm it should make great timing for you to get down here.

vak82 - your friend in the starlet is more than welcome to come. I think the most popular UHF radios are the uniden, ours cost around $100 and has a 5km range, most are 3km. Just go check out tandy or dicky smith.

Our discussions re UHF units has concluded that a model with at least 2 Watts is preferred for runs. It will be interesting to test the Sub 2 Watt Units on Friday night. The one I scored is 5 Watts and came with a high gain antenna too. The monitor difference between the standard rubber ducky antenna and the helical optional one is astounding. I get much better reception... Don't know about output yet, havent tested that.

I'd also like to get some night shots of the cars on Friday. So could the \"5\" owners wash them first please?? LOL

But the one that I looked at long and hard was this one:-

They seem to put a new one up every few days and they sell for around $125 Plus post. I didnt manage to snaffle one in about 4 attempts before the 5 watter came along.

Its got all the extra bits too. If you can get that one wholesale, I'd grab one.

...client lunch followed by train trip home (hic)....

....is there a plan to arrange the cars in a red/(white)/blue sequence?

...also watch out for the Renaults going the wrong way (as they are apt to do).

I'm interested, but what Brisbanites are going? Finishing work at 5:00, getting home at 5:40ish and then getting from North Brisbane down the M1 to Mudgeeraba through Brisbane + M1 traffic before 7 is a big ask.

whaddaya have to go home for? just come straight down.
muzza2 is leaving his work at 5pm then heading straigh down (i think), he works somwhere on the northside of the city by memory...
Also brissy peeps are meeting up before 6pm at springwood mazda for a 6pm leave

oh yeah, there is forecast for \"isolated showers\" so hopefully we might get lucky and the rain will hold off, if it does rain we can still meet up and head out for some chit chat and pizza.

I'm from Brisbane and I'm going. Got a friend in his starlet which will be coming down too.

not sure how many from coast are coming, i think around half dozen.
lets just hope the rain holds off anyway!!!

but even if it does decide to rain, we can still meet up and have some pizza!!! mmmm pizza :mrgreen:

also i know an underground carpark where wayne can take some piccies if he likes.
