If you care about handling then get 17's. If you are willing to sacrifice handling and straight line performance for looks then go the 18's. I'm not sure you can even fit 19's on an MX5.

Box Hill Huh? I'm in Riverstone. I'll keep and eye out and give ya a wave. :)

If it's been lowered too much you'll prob only fit 17's max under there. There's a couple of people running around on 18's but i'm not sure how low their car is.

Whatever you do, try and pick the lightest wheels possible. Too heavy and you'll lose a bit of power, handling won't be as good (which will be the case with larger wheels full stop), and the ride will be even harsher.

Yeah, i'm in Castle hill all the time, haven't seen a black one though. And i've never had an MX5 try to drag me (except on a run). :)

Even with 17's on it, you might rub the guards depending on the offset of wheels, width of the tyres, and how lowered you car actually is.

I'd say no larger than 17\" and if they're heavier than your stock rims, don't buy them.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Ah, that's not too low, it looks real nice. Lowered just enough. 8)

You'd fit 17's under there for sure, but I hink it look hot the way it is. I'd drfinitely go the CAI and style bars. Much more rewarding.

Can't really recommend anyone for the CAI apart from MX5Mania. I made my one up for about $30 all up. That's for the shieded filter, wires, connector, and a 90 deg dunny pipe elbow.

That's what Mazda thought when they made the Titanium limited Edition that way.

IMHO, if you do change to aftermarket wheels, keep the originals for the day you want to sell the car.
