Yeah, the next lot will be slotted in the workshop with a milling machine.

Did anyone see my brakes at Morgan Park? We pulled up after the first set and thought the engine was on fire. Opened the bonnet and nothing, but still smoke everywhere... Brake smoke billowing out of the wheels... MMMM Gotta love solid disks. You can quickly realise how effective ventilated disks are.

Hopefully our backyard slots will aid in releasing trapped gases and dust, and not just aid in killing me at the end of the first straight  .

As of 5:35pm I'm out of tomorrow's event...........one cactus brake master cylinder

And it really shouldn't have been a problem as I had a seal kit............but whoever was the clown that assembled the item (it's a remanufactured master cylinder) completely screwed the phillips head on spring retaining bolt on the primary piston and I don't have a spare!!!!

NOT HAPPY JAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :x :x :x

Anyhow, I hope those of you that are going tomorrow have an excellent day...I hope the rain stays away!!!

Cheers,
Danny

With your experience, and knowing your car, the thing you need to remember is that some poeple are willing to be faster through corners but have nowhere near as much power as you down the straight. Let them past on the straight, that means you will have to physically back off until they are past(if they caught up with you, then you won't be waiting for them down too many straights).

I got a little bit tired of waiting for SEs and 1.8s at Natmeet for that reason, and noone wants a frustrated driver behind them. (I was in the group with the wifes/girlfriends... :? )

Also, enjoy the driving, and try not to focus on the "timing" side of it. Trying to push your times down might get you a little too excited... Trust me. QR 2 Boags' MX5(Shazza) 0 (they are gooooood times though 8) )

Yeah sweet. I got no dramas with someone whos trying to get around doin' just that. I'd prefer to not have to think for myself and watch the guy behind me. If there getting close, they will be going past.

I guess no one wants to bugger their car up so......

Fish ya missed a great morning(and I imagine I missed a great afternoon....damn work!!)

Clubman: 1:08.03 - never done it before so no previous times but not to shabby from what I can gather?

National: 1:29.??, down from a 1:34.??. I managed to get the hang of turn 1 and I reckon this is where I made up the time

My tyres are totally shagged though!

One poor bugger in the morning on the clubman circuit put his 180SX into the tyres on turn 4 heading into 5. Not terminal but this car was mint....before he bashed the drivers side!!

JBT - sweet!

How'd everyone else go and were there any more incidents? Oh yeah, that M3 that was on the track in the morning was  fast!

Lastly, does anyone know if I can download the times for the day from anywhere yet?

I ran on the arvo track, the sprint was fun and managed to get 5sec off my previous run. The sportsman track isnt too bad either, better than the national i reckon. Just 10 more track days and i think my tires will need replacing FINALLY!

Yes, that sprint track layout looks good. Rob and I were thinking we should have opted for the afternoon session after watching you guys having all the fun.

Yes, the afternoon season looked great. And so few cars. If I get a cold the next time i take a sicky I'll be really annoyed. Sneezing with a helmet on doesn't help my lap times :frown:

WOW, what a day.

Only managed 1 set out in the Datto. QR 3 me 0...

The old girl went REALLY well for those 7 or so laps though! 1.15 for the clubman. Then found 3rd when redline in 4th looking for 5th, we suspect bent valve, its now running on 5 cylinders. Oh well, the saga continues. Fuel injection is going on before the next track day.

So we loaded her back on the ute and drove back to the northside to fix RIP-MX5's celica, which was meant to be running all day but did a uni joint the night before. Took the driveline out, fixed it, put it back in and back to QR. Got back at 3, so my mate got a few sets in before stumps, and i didn't completely waste his money :D

All in all, a good day even with the dramas.

PS - ASE05 1.08 is schmick for your first time, not too many people would have been passing you eh? Only 3 more seconds and you've beaten the SP   :P (just jokes, he had sticky tyres, there is at least 2 secs in that)

Hmmm, seems like my 1:07.7 on the clubman circuit for a first timer wasn't bad for a lowered stock car. The 1:33.84 on the National needs some work also but if I ever get up that way again I'll give it another go :D

What car are you driving?

a 1.29 is a fast time for a street car around the national? So far I can only get 1.27 and a bit out on the national?
