You're already in Cat 5 for a modified 1.8L. The semi-slicks won't make a difference.

If you had a bog stock 1.8L and then put RA1's on it, that would also put you there. You're already in the modified 1.8L category so you can do whatever you like to your car now and it won't make a difference, as long as it's still road registered. :)

PS. I'll be in your category on Saturday. :D What's your best time so far? Was that on the semi's?

Hey Bevan,

I thought you were telling me that the RA1s would classify me as running on slicks and throw me into Category 9

Class 9 - All MX-5 Club members running on slicks, irrespective of vehicle

I bought a Category 5 car, and that is where it is going to stay!

Last run of the day at the May trackday meet. 1:19:93

And that was on a pair of well used Pilots at the front and mildly worn C-Drives at the rear. We shall see what I can achieve on the RA1s. And in September we will see what I can achieve with a Torsen LSD.

Ah crap, sorry mate, I didn't even see class 9. Ignore whatever I said (like you didn't do that before.... ). I think I got a 1:19:08 or around there last time so we're very similar on street tyres/no LSD. It will be interesting on how we go on Saturday depending on how my semi's go. :D
