EBC Greens beddding in

Just got a new set. They feel awesome unlike the RB74s which felt spongy when cold.

Do these EBC greens need to be bedded in properly? I read somewhere that it may not be necessary?

They have a thin layer of 'bedding in compound' on the pad so just drive normally for around 500km with no hard stops while they wear in and then they're right. I have them on the Subaru and quite like them, although they are dirtier than stockies.

The greens are good, nice when hot but good when cold aswell. While we were fixing my car I was borrowing my cousins bmw which has Redstuff all round and omg they do sfa when cold

I bought myself some pads too with some slotted rotors, the brake guy i bought them from told me that i needed to bed them in, he told me to just find a nice quiet back street and do about 5 increasingly harder stops from 80km/h, not sure whether this will really bed them in or just wear the coating of the surface.

Thats just what i was told anyway... does anyone else have any other light to shed on the 'bedding in' process????

I had to bed in the RB74's. I am one of the few who like them. They don't do anything when cold though.

I used to love RB74's, but I can't get them now!!!!!
If someone knows where to get them for an NB, I'd really appreicate it.
I find the easiest way to bed in brakes is to get onto a freeway when there is no traffic, get up to around 100k's then hit the brakes hard (but not an emergency stop) and get down to around 20-30k's, then gently accelerate back to 100k's and repeat 3 or 4 times.
This will bed them in nicely, and quickly.

Many race cars bed their brakes in on the track during the warm-up lap, so you don't need a lot of time, just a few good hard applications with some cool down inbetween.
