My mate Paul is going to be there testing out his Westfield. Pop over and say hello. It'll be the only unpainted car there :)

Umm, kinda. I replaced the valve which had the hole, but now there's a little oil usage. I suspect valve stem seals, or maybe rings. But I'm going to take it easy on the engine until I rebuild the original engine and get it tuned. So yeah, I'm out til that's done, unfortunately.

Morning Session, not sure which group I'm in yet. Only confirmed it all late last night.

My tyres are buggered though after the Mt Cotton thing last week so that could make it fun!

I kid you not. We're doing a brake upgrade soon anyway, so if they are fooked then we don't really care.

Got the 5 saved up for club track days. Too many clowns with more power than me at these days, so i'll be driving something with 0 sentimental value and just next to that in $$$ value. :D

That's what mine are. Most of the MX5 Cup race cars have cheap rotors hand slotted. Mind you, they aren't done with a handheld angle grinder.

Has anyone been out with these guys before?

Scared I'll get me car pranged up!

EDIT: I've only done the Natmeet track day so I'm a bit of a novice

The rules are quite strict............especially now.

No drifting at all and no passing at all except on the straight. The guy being passed is to allow the faster car to pass and indicate which side to pass. Various other rules (flags procedures) are included in Pauls' emails. Any screw ups are sent off with no refund, no return invitation and no discussion.

You run at your own pace so fear not. :)

With your experience, and knowing your car, the thing you need to remember is that some poeple are willing to be faster through corners but have nowhere near as much power as you down the straight. Let them past on the straight, that means you will have to physically back off until they are past(if they caught up with you, then you won't be waiting for them down too many straights).

I got a little bit tired of waiting for SEs and 1.8s at Natmeet for that reason, and noone wants a frustrated driver behind them. (I was in the group with the wifes/girlfriends... :? )

Also, enjoy the driving, and try not to focus on the "timing" side of it. Trying to push your times down might get you a little too excited... Trust me. QR 2 Boags' MX5(Shazza) 0 (they are gooooood times though 8) )
