Eastern Creek Raceway - Open Practice Day - Special rate

Postby Snowie » Thu Jun 15, 2006 6:46 pm

A couple of months ago I went to the Eastern Creek Raceway - Open Practice Day and I thought it was pretty darn good. :D

They run it well, with each hour split in to 3 lots of 20 minute sessions. Which means you have time to get into a groove and concentrate, rather than just a few laps. There aren't too many other cars on the track at one time and most people are well behaved - they do talk to hooligans and even send them home if they don't behave.

Well I have been speaking to the organisers and have managed to get a special deal for MX5 club and forum members for the Thursday 20th of July. It normally costs $250 per driver, but they have offered it to us $200. 8) This includes lunch and even morning and arvo tea. Plus you can use the garages too. Pretty good value I think.

Plus depending on how well we subscribe to this, there is the possibility of evening track nights in day light savings (5-9pm) for just us and if enough people go to the free practice, then we'd be 1 of the the 3 groups exclusively, get our own lunch and basically get looked after.

Oh, in this practice you do not need a cams licence or a eastern creek licence. You just use a normal road licence. Saves some $$$. :D

Now I have the entry forms, PM me and I send them to you. Basically to get the saving you use these forms. I'll try and post a link later tonight or tomorrow directly to them.

BTW I am not against Wakefield, not at all, I just like more options.

Hi Snowie,

Do thay have timing available at the day or do you take care of that yourself?

I would be interested but can't be sure if I can make it just yet.

No timing or placings. Just driving! :) I've been looking for lap timers on ebay but nothing's come up. :|

Forced Fives, as Bevan said they don't do timing at present.

BUT, when I spoke to them and said that we do timing at the MX5 club days, he said, \"oh would you like that\". So whilst at present it isn't, I think if there were enough people to justifty it then he would think about it.

In the mean time, bring a friend with a stop watch.

Oh and I just can't seem to post the files - so if there is someone out there who can host them for me, I would appreciate it. (Cos I have tried to get them on my web space (optusnet), but they just don't appear.)

Thanks

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

You have to book with the forms above.

So they can have final number to organise things.

You don't need an L2S for the open track days at Eastern Creek. Like the one on the 20th July.

NO scrutineering, training AVAILABLE, just practice.
