PS: I have heard that the Mazda genuine water pump is the only way to go.

Last question: Have you got a big socket or tube thing to put against the new crank seal to tap it into place? I have some larger sockets. If you need any, let me know the size.

Didn't know there was a fellow 5 owner so close. :) I'm just near the Venner Rd roundabout. My water pump just started leaking yesterday :frown: I noticed it at the Car of the year dinner/drive yesterday (good time it was too, lots of NC's). Priced all the parts today at Mazda. And plan to do mine next week. Do you mind If drop in to see what I'm in for? I did plenty of timing belt changes in my Fiat days. I have access to plenty of tools including a rattle gun and compressor if you need anything else I might just have it?

Hi John, Hopefully it wont go to much further. :) but I am tempted to pull both the motor and box out together (been down this road before) to do the job as I just remembered the CAS seal need doing as well. :)

ID=43mm, OD=50mm - and the socket will have to fit over the crank nose.
Although in my case it went 9/10ths of the way in by hand 8)

Bugga! Biggest I've got is 34mm. You may need to get a bit of copper tube or something to suit the size UA.
