What are people's thoughts on these? I'm bored at work and contemplating getting a set as a track dog.

I can give you an opinion since I ran the A048 for the first time today....
I guess they are comparable to the D01's they replaced... Seemed to grip in a very similar way, quite forgiving etc... I will reserve final judgement till I see how they wear and how long it take for them to go off.
They still look healthy after todays outing at least !
