quick suspension question - can you kindly answer please

upper control arm long bolt

NB8B mx5 front suspension

can someone tell me where it is?

i am just staring at all the bolts and cant figure which one it is...

If you're asking it in the context of shock removal, then it's the one that is to the left of the leftmost red arrow. It's the longitudinal bolt that the top wishbone pivots around. It's quite long, so I think you have to loosen the sway bar mount to get it out all the way.

you mean the bolt that appears lighter in the picture? almost a gold like color

i thought that was the upper a arm :oops:

as in the bolt that goes through the top 2 bits as in picture below?

The gold thing is the washer under the head of said bolt. The bolt is probably 20cm long, if not more, it goes through the two uper inner control arm bushings.

Yes you have to unbolt the sway bracket to remove it. If it's stiff, schwing der big hammer.

Yup...that's the one! If you're doing a shock change, then removing the top arm is a difficult/hardcore way to go about it IMHO. That top bolt will be the devil's own work to get out...
