The Roof, The Roof, The Roof is on fire............

Well not quite..

I had a whim o put my roof up today, and noticed that as its been replaced (yes.. the roof is fairly shiny and new) when it was re-installed the bit that wraps around the front stay has come away from the roof. This means the roof balloons a bit at speed (but stays taut), but annoyingly, the flap of material that rolls over the stay bar and attaches to the roof has come away and \"dangles'....

Annoying the bejeeesus out of me.

What do YOU use to stick the thing to the roof again, as the previous material has gone hard and has cracked and seperated.

p.s. roof was up ONLY in dodgy carpark and travelling short distance home.

Some good quality contact glue and a telephone book or four to keep some weight on the joint while it dries. Then there's the extreme option I ended up taking called \"new roof\".

Be thankful you dont have a roof like mine. The zipper for the rear window broke, so previous owner stiched it together with fishing line, and whenever he'd fold the roof down, he'd also fold the rear window. Now because of me having to do that, the rear window has a few cracks in it.....picking up a NB soft top on saturday........I would repair the old one, but the rear window was also rather damaged in that u could barely see out of it

wayne, same thing happened on my '89 na - upholsterer recommended "bonding cement". i ended up using "selley's all fix" but i can't vouch for how long it lasted as i glued it just before selling the car. you might also want something that drys clear as the selley's all fix is white & may not be ideal.

Wayne, check the Interior section on my site. I had the exact problem, fixed it and it still works perfectly to this day.

Mate.. the Door and rear quarter panel are getting FIXED on Wednesday.. The missus drove into it and scraped the side.. Not much damage, but a buffer aint gonna help LOL

SO ADD THAT !

Drives OK though.... tee heee heee
