Stud conversion anyone??
Hey guys,
Im just wondering whether anyone has ever seen or done themselves a 4 to 5 stud conversion on the NA??
Im looking to change my 4x100 to a 5x120 stud pattern, which is the same as the commodore stud pattern, mainly because of the larger range of wheels to choose from...
after having a good look at it I cant see a simple way of managing to put new studs without getting new hubs machined to avoid the studs landing on eachother ( which is too much $$$)
any ideas?? links??
Cheers guys,
Luke.

If you are that concerned about wheel availability, why not put your money towards custom made simmons, arrow or dragway wheels. I reckon by the time you custom made hubs to suit commomwhore wheels (which are generally very heavy) you'd probably have spent more money and then you'll have a car that you can't buy bits for. There really are plenty of wheels around in 4x100 - you just have to search - much easier than making new front and rear hubs IMO.

With a turbo who needs light wheels! .....nah Im not really after light racing wheels, other wise id probably put some 15's on, im more after \"the look\" .
Theres a certain set of 5 spoke 18s that i really like that arent available for a 4 stud, only for 5 studs of which holden was just one of the avail patterns.
Im getting really sick of going to some wheel places and as soon as they hear mx5 or the like they just say \"nah cant get them for those cars\" even tried ringing sydney suppliers etc keep getting the same deal.
I guess ill just have to keep looking or fork out the money for a set of modenas but i dont fancy paying that much for rolling stock.
We'll see...hmmm
does anyone know where you can get those 5 spoke integral wheels?? sometimes call vipers i think?? they were on that red mx for sale on ebay a week or so ago I havent been able to find somewhere in aust selling them. see pic...

Man, you recon 4x100 is tough, try having 4x108 that most French hatches use. There are about 5 wheels to choose from
You'd also have to remachine the brake disks as the studs go through the holes in the disk.
In all I think it would be easier and cheaper to custom drill some blank rims.

G'day Luke,
Viewing your car domain site...your car (the white one) looks quite flash with the wheels it has on
Viewing the wheels on the red car...they look like NB8A wheels...but unfortunately were released as 15\". Have you thought of buying the 17\" SE wheels?...I guess the only similarity is that they are 5 spoke too and having 4 studs on them they will easily fit on to your car? Yes?
I'm thinking of buying some rims too....which places in Adelaide turned you down?

Cheers chris, I like my wheels alot, but am considering getting new ones, and my dad too, hes really wanting bigger rims, those on his are 16\"CSA ones.
I do like the SE 17s but (not having looked yet) im guessing they'll be hard to come by and expensive being racing hart.
Its not that theyve turned me down its that so many places with the flashy wheels just seem very \"unhelpful\" when they learn what car it is.
Thanks for the link Zoomb. and very true Adam, i reckon i'll see if they come in that pattern. I reckon i'll CAD something up and see if the guys at my work workshop can machine something up for me.
Cheers guys.

PT's got some nice ones. Perhaps send him a PM. He might be able to tell you where to go.
Cheers,

Hey forget what I just said. While trawling E-bay I found exactly what you were after.
