Just blew a baffle out my muffler

Postby maxwolfie » Tue May 30, 2006 1:30 pm

Was giving quite a bit of stick (read:redline) out of a roundabout and I heard a *pop*. Exhaust note went up 50dB too .. lol .. Time for new exhaust I think..... Though now it sounds like an (annoying) fooli shick rotah!

One of the baffles has been loose for quite some time, and I figured this would happen after one-too-many limiter changes.. lol

OK, it's getting REALLY annoying now....... options?

What's a good, deep throaty sounding muffler? The louder the better... as long as its legal, though..... Im used to loud cars

If it's legal it wont be loud. One or the other.

I don't know if my \"hotdog\" muffler is legal, but I sure do LOVE the sound. Trust me it is loud enough.

But unfortunately, SWMBO, doesn't share my passion for raucous exhaust, so the stock and hotdog get interchanged between everyday use and weekends away without the missus.

Matt - Part time hoon and loving it.

I've got a brand new muffler sitting in my room. Was hoping to get $200 for it. You've got first dibs. I can bring it into work tomorrow for you if ya like. Here's a pic. It just needs the brackets and flange. It's 2.5" straight through the with 4" tip. But I don't think it's loud. I heard it on Irwin83r's car and it was fairly quiet unless he's on throttle.

Construction info here.
