Goodyear Revspec RS02s

Postby PT » Tue May 23, 2006 11:14 am

I've booked the SE to get some new shoes tomorrow.

Costing me $250 a corner, hopefully a lot better than the POS Toyo's that come with it. The fronts are still fine but the rears are bald, boost will do that to you I guess.

Went in a mates skyline with these tyres and was so impressed how well they stuck, he says they are better than the RT215's he had on previously. Any feedback with these on an MX5?

I'm going through this at the moment. The RS02 is in the same league as Pilot Precedas, Proxes T1Rs, AVS Sport, etc; basically moderately sporty.

In the end I decided to try the RT615.

You need to find more corners if you're wearing the rears faster than the fronts 8)

My reasoning for the going with the RS02s over the RT615s was based on how long they will last.

Grip is about on par, but I'd hope to get more k's out of the RS02's. With any luck anyway

Almost 10k km on mine.No complaints so far ,they seem to be wearing well.Stick far better than the Falken Ziex and ride is smoother and quieter than the prvious Bridgestones. Got them for $225 at Bob Jane. Would definately give them another go when the time comes.

Actually two outlets could match that at the time , Caringbah and Blakehurst in Sydney.

Yup 205/40/17. The Caringbah branch came up with that quote without any haggling and considering other places had quoted as much as $310 I thought it was pretty good. The Blakehurst guys had to price match but they got them in the next day so I went with them. Was a little suss about their \"special\" wheel balancing though!

Have you looked at getting the Goodyear Eagle F1's instead? I've been very very very impressed with them on my friends 535iS, can pretty much go just as hard on them as the much more expensive AVS 102's he had before them

I have 615s on 14's and am very happy with them.
Should get 15000 ks out of them.
$200 each.
Alaways lie to a tyre seller - say - I got quote for $xxx already.

Be outrageous - they'll use match the price

The Revspec RS02 is Goodyears Top of the line road tyre atm. They haven't made the F1 for a while now.

Are you sure?
A mate just picked up his F430, literally last week.
It had Eagle F1s
I hope they're not old

Re: your earlier comment; wear isn't a major concern, it only gets dríven on Sunday :D

I stand corrected. The Eagle F1 is one below the Revspec in the chain of command.
