Is it just me, or does that look a little like the front of a RAV4 8) And why did they use all that plastic under the bonnet?? Twin cam heads were meant to be seen!

Nice intake though! :P

Riddle me this .. now you've pulled one apart, is there any reason the intake pipe couldn't do this

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Looks decent...but like Okibi suggested...that is a lot of piping

So presuming the fitment is complete now, how does it sound / go? A bit optimistic perhaps but does it sound as good as a Mania through the firewall CAI?

TK
98 NB8A, Mania CAI, Eibachs and Bilsteins, Whiteline brace, Starcorp's, DBA Slotted and asstd bling, FM butterfly brace. FFS coldside and the whiiiinnne. Now 138rwkw (Glory Run :) ) More with tuning.

Na, that's not his car, it's a car from the US, or another country with left side drive.

The engine bay is really busy around the intake which would be at least a power steering pump. The other side looks to be almost empty.

As my mother still says from time to time \"use your eyes and look\" . Guess we will have to wait for Mania to start selling something similar before these questions are answered...

You could imitate that setup very easily with some PVC plumbing pipes. If someone was willing to do it to their NC, they'd have the exact same benefit as the bling one above. It just won't look as good, that's all. 8)

I'd do it to my NC... if I had one...

Pretty moot point when it' completely hidden anyway.

It baffles me why noone has shown flow test results for the OEM intake though. It's pretty pointless to replace something that works well already.

As for the LHD debate:
wiper positions
lack of RHD brake booster
Rhino Ramps (extremely rare in Aus, common in US)

Why spend money testing when it's cheaper to sell a bling intake that people automatically assumes going to be better.

you could almost guarantee the filter would never get cleaned too. Who would want to dismantle the whole front of their car to do that each service?

Not sure the NC doesn't look better without the nosecone though :P Perhaps someone could do a 'Baja' kit - cut away the guards and put big Sunrasia wheels and off road tyres on it 8)

just went & checked out the standard setup........without pulling the front of the car to pieces like that idiot  ...........there is a pipe (about the same diameter as the bling job) that runs from the airbox, along the front of the car & finishes beside the drivers side headlight in front of everything else where it would be sucking in the same nice cool air as the "pull the whole nosecone off to clean or replace the aftermarket crap" intake........it amuses me that some ppl think they know better than the manufacturer..............i think i'll be leaving well enough alone

oh........& at least i'll feel secure enuff if i ever go thru any deep puddles with ours........that bling jobbie is sitting awfully low to the ground
