Thompson OFRK

Postby Andrew » Tue May 09, 2006 8:17 pm

Well what can I say, it is a work of art :P

I ordered a Thompson Oil Filter Relocation Kit from the US of A just over a week ago and it arrived today.

To Tom's credit the postage on the box was exactly what he said it would be and everything inside the box was packed beyond belief, no damage to the box or the products inside.

After unpacking it all and looking at the kit Red Barron was right in describing it as a work of art. Beautifully machined blocks of aluminium along with two high-pressure oil lines and the various other hardware required for installation.

Here is a pic of it all -

Cant wait till the weekend to install it along with some other bling I have waiting to go on the car

Thank's Tom, your product and service are top class.

Pardon my ignorance...

What's the advantage of relocating the oil filter? :?

It is easier to get to and you dont spill oil everywhere when the filter comes off :P

They were the two main reasons i purchased the kit.

Ooooo, looks very nice mate! :) I've also got a kit waiting to go on, not the one that you have and doesn't seem to be the same quality but it'll work just fine. Will probably do it this weekend too. 8)

We can do and nerdy thing and exchange pics! :P

Ahh, so you're going for a performance increase as well as the extra convenience then! :P

I see. It's more of convenience modification rather than a performance one. Got it. 8)

Yep thats the one :P

It could be classed as a minor performance mod as the motor will contain more oil and there should be a slight cooling effect as the oil passes through the aluminium blocks on the way to the filter

....then again maybe not
