Modding NA bumpstops..

Postby Black04RSC » Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:53 pm

Hi Guys,

As the title says i'm thinking about modifying the rear bump stops on my NA6 after lowering the car recently to stop the rear suspension bouncing off them on big dips.

Apparently the bump stops are a lot longer than NB ones and i've been told they can be modded to make them shorter. Has anyone sucessfully done this or alternatively fitted NB bump stops to their NA??

Pls help me stop the BOING!

Rob

yeah, springs are great Butters, but i guess when u reduce u're suspension travel u're bound to run into problems...

I'm gonna make up a spacer to put under the spring which will give me a little more travel and hopefully if i can, mod the bump stop to give me a little more. It's always going to BOING more than a std height NA but hopefully it will be a little better...

Easy to do with a hacksaw. Just cut off up to and including the first dohnut.

Sabretooth and I did it recently when we installed the lowered kings on my NA6. I am running full low on the koni's on the rear and have not had any issues so far.

Sorry no pics though.

Cheers for that r0gue, i've been hesitating after reading about the bumpstops but i think i'll give it a go.

If it doesn't work out i can always replace them...

Nope. I can't see how you could, The next dohnut is smaller in diameter.
