Eibach springs and anti-roll (sway) bars for NC

Sourcing the Eibach Pro-Kit (5536.140) and Anti-Roll-Kit (5536.320) for NC directly from Eibach Australia. Quoted $1440 (including GST and delivery).

Getting my local Pedders to put them on. Quoted $350 to $500, depending on whether the front cross member needs to be dropped. I will also get re-alignment as per Charlie Brown specs.

Has anyone gone the Eibach springs and sways for the NC (LE), and are the quoted prices reasonable?

Don't do it Nhoj.

You can get the Eibach springs from MX5 Mania for just under $400 or the Kings I have for less than that.

The Eibach sways can be imported from Brian Goodwin Racing in the US for just under AU$500 depending on exchange rate and including import duty (if they charge you). You could also buy the springs from Brian and save on transport costs, probably end up paying only $850 for springs and bars.

Pedders are spinning you a yarn.
There is no cross member. Stear clear of them.
Time to fit the springs is about 45 minutes per corner, you can do the bars yourself in under two hours or if done with the springs about 45 minutes total for both.

As for Eibach Australia, well the less said the better.

Thanks for the heads up, Charlie Brown :)

Just visited the Good-Win Racing site, and the prices are substantially better! The springs and sways are about AUD710 (excluding duty and postage), but that will still work out to about 40% less than from Eibach locally!!

Are there any other suspension specialists in Sydney I can turn to to put the Eibachs on?

BTW, there has been quite a lot of discussion in miata.net on the AEM CAI and the RoadsterSport exhaust. Has anyone in Aust put them on? Happy with sound/performance?

Depending where you are in Sydney, ring Heasmans at Sydenham or Wholesale Suspension at Penrith.

But the nose needs to come off to fit.

Have a look at the AEM official torque and power curves.

Some people have voiced concern of heavy rain getting in, but from the pictures it seems not too close to the radiator, although a little close to the ground (even closer with Eibach springs on.. hehe).

Anyway, I think I will probably go the exhaust before the CAI though, as there are probably less warranty issues with the former.

Can I be even more demanding and ask for a front on photo with the CAI installed? :mrgreen:

I don't understand why they added the last 30cm of pipe.

It looks prime for a I.L. Motorsport style CAI.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Sorry, no frontal shots; but I would guess that they were avoiding obstruction of the radiator behind.

Nah, cool air = denser fuel air ratio not more fuel but more efficient performance fuel.
The NC has great fuel economy anyway. I got 6.2 ltrs/100kms without trying on the run to Natmeet.

Yes and no.
Peak hour traffic crawl for an hour and a half. Freeway run for another hour and a half. Then Buckeys Way, mixture of flat and very hilly country road to Walcha and onto Armidale, all with another 6 MX5s driving as only MX5s should be drive. The car was fully laden. Not one square centimetre of space left in the boot. I didn't drive to conserve fuel but to have fun, so getting into the 5.**/100klms would be easily possible if you wanted to.
Around the city in peak hour traffic I get around 9.0 +/- 0.1 normally which is about 1ltr/100klm better than I could in the NB and the NA.

Yes, I get about 9L/100km city cycle on my NC. Was getting about 11L/100km on my 6yo NB.
More power/torque, more fuel efficient :P
