NC Auto vs Man Springs and Shocks

Postby Okibi » Fri Apr 21, 2006 4:56 pm

During a meeting this morning I commented that the Auto NC Matty and I drove in Brisbane felt better on the road than the Manual NC we'd dríven earlier.

Apparently the Auto NC has both different springs and shocks (and sits a little lower).

Can anyone confirm / deny this?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

i thought the only difference in the manual vs. auto (besides the gearbox) was an LSD on the manual.

No difference between auto & manual.
There is a difference between the standard car and the LE.
The LE has Bilstein shocks.
In the US it has been reported the Bilsteins feel softer than the standard, though this may mean that they are working better.

charlie, you sure about this? my research before buying showed that the LSD could not be fitted to the auto.

Correct :D

Nothing stopping you buying the auto and fitting the LSD afterwards. Would be expensive though.

Back to the original comment. I think a lot of the feel comes from a good alignment. If it leaves the factory with the setting all over the place but within tolerance, the feel and handling will be less than perfect, as was found on the earlier models.
