All BPs have oil sprayers but the US lads reckon the SE is a later version block build and not a GTX donk. I haven't got to the end reasoning for that yet. They have confirmed however that some 6sp aftermarket shortshifters from NBs do not fit the SE. So that is interesting in itself.

Just a noteworthy mention....
My car has never over-heated, and I've never heard of an SE's turbo coming loose from head, or rusting in the intake pipes...

24-SE 25-SP
I'm no: 24 for the SE and we love our lil' baby! Only reason we didn't get an SP was there weren't really any available that were in perfect condition when we were lookin'(and I wanted a new car).
With some upgrades to the breathing/cooling n 'puter it's up to 150rwkw @ 10psi on Chiptorques dyno
More than enough power for us........till we learn how to use it properly!

CT: some 6sp aftermarket shortshifters from NBs do not fit the SE
There's actually a few different versions of the six speed gearbox even discounting the 10AE, Heritage and SE.
IL Motorsport in Deutschland only sells the one short shift kit and expects you to machine the bush to suit your particular gearbox (I'm 99% sure that this how David at MX5mania sorted out my IL short shift kit). The same goes for the USA's Simpson Design short shift kit.
However in Japan, home to \"all-parts-included_perfect-fit_bolts-straight-on_mod's\" this would never suffice, so when you order a short shift and metal surround kit from KG Works, you have to specify your VIN so they can send you the exact parts you need for an easy bolt on mod. http://www.kgworks.co.jp/4-c-118.htm

They even provide the diagram above which shows the differences between the NB8A 5 speed, NB8B series 1 & 2, then the NB8B series 3 (not sure if this is the Roadster turbo/MX5 SE model and/or the last of the naturally aspirated NB8B's).
Perhaps an SE owner could confirm?

Well, some of us can't enter into the world's deepest pocket contest, so how is this for question:
Stock SP vs SE on a track.
NO MODS - Who will win? And that is an easy question to answer isn't it...
Any discussion after that is settled by pumping the most amount of money in.....

It's not about the faster car, it's about the "better" car.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
