Clutch for turbo
I'm up for a new clutch and with a turbo destined for the not too distant future i was wondering what clutches the turbo guys were running, for a 1.6L.

Im running an 1800 fly wheel with an \"xtreme\" (700Kg?) pressure plate and an exedy full face disc. Holding up fine so far at 7 psi, and drives like stock, so no le mans racing starts every time.
red'90 vf10 turbo. FMIC,dual feed fuel rail, E Manage, "330cc" injectors.16" ADVAN RG wheels, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/264041/6

I've gone for an Xtremebranded clutch as well, but the 4 paddle.
The one I got is not listed in the catalogue, but we called them up (have had good clutches from them before) and they told me they could supply a cluth to hold more than the power we neededawith a reasonable pedal feel for street driving (the car was a daily driver).
The clutch pedal is slightly heavier than stock, but my dad managed to drive the car so it can't be too bad
This one has been in teh car for over 18 months of spasticated turbo monkey style driving and doesn't slip. Had it out after 6 months and it still looked perfect, so put it back in.
When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.

Mine was a mates rate deal and around $280 IIRC, I think retail is something around the $400 mark.

I have approx 270 rwhp, and run twin palte solid centre OS Giken TS2B...can drive everyday, except can't hold it on hills...but only chicks & nannas hold it on a hill with the clutch.......
AWESOME clutch...tried heaps of single platers, up to 230mm button...pig to drive and it chattered!!!! Nothing 1.6 size (200mm) could hold more than 14lb boost (i'm running 23).
Giken can take 5500rpm, Wide open throttle, 3rd gear from a standing start, WITH NOT A HINT OF SLIP! I believe in robust solutions....
Advantage of twin plate is pedal feels stock, and rotating inertia of flywheel clutch assy is MUCH lower (equivalent to removing 72 kg from the vehicle in 1st gear acceleration!!)
I'm designing an alloy flywheel (CNC machined & balanced) to take quartermaster/ PTT twin plate clutches.....these clutches are twin plate, 500hp capable, cheap plates, meatl or organic linings, and clutch is half cost of Giken (~$1200), and parts ON THE SHELF locally (unlike GIKEN plates!!). Whole assembly is bolt in. Good for SERIOUS turbo cars.
