What should my next mod be?

Postby JSE » Mon Apr 17, 2006 12:50 pm

Ok so that time has come again when I have a bit of money saved up and stupidly want to spend it on my 5. These are the options I was thinking...comments and pro's and cons of each please?

1. Mania CAI & Enlarged Intake + cash left over
OR
2. Exedy Clutch and Lightweight Flywheel

I'm swinging towards the second option just because that will complete all the tranny mods I would like to do...although the 2nd option is a MUST.

What you guys think? (Note all these mods will eventually be fitted, but I want opinions of what I should do first - I can see option 1 being a big favourite :D )

Cheers

i'd forget about option 1 till you're ready to completely rebuild the engine :?:

Good point AJ...When this engine pops I will be rebuilding it with all new internals...camshafts, new cams, forgies, toda gasket, 1.8L inejctors etc.

Second thoughts, yes option 1 is stupid and a waste of time

DISREGARD that, I have changed the options...

save even more $$$ nd dont change the flywheel and clutch till your engine pops and you HAVE to remove it - tis a pain in the rear to remove and replace an engine. twice.in.one.year.

have fun!

Clutch is slowly dying thats why I'm considering the clutch plus flywheel (I figure might as well if it's all going to be out anyway). However, the clutch isn't that much of a serious problem at the moment...it still has a little bit of life left. Don't know what power I'm making right now, but I will be most probably keeping it naturally aspirated and get into a new ecu and hardcore tuning later on in the year...that's why I'm swinging towards clutch and flywheel :?:
