I've thought about getting something like that myself from time to time over the years, in theory theu should provide a gain but some ppl tend to tell you to stay away from them.

Probably the best-argued reason for not getting these was this:

cheers babs for the link to the interesting article - hadn't seen these pulleys before, & must admit i'd forgotten that crank pulleys are aka harmonic dampers/ balancers. i guess if you want engine reliability & reasonable longevity (which i do) then they're not the wtg.
