Matching wiring connectors

Postby petdow » Wed Apr 12, 2006 11:02 am

Hello All,
I hope someone out there can impart some knowledge. I recently purchased my first MX-5 (1995), and I have found a couple of wires with connectors that seem to be made to fit each other. If someone could advise what the wires power/control and whether I should connect them.

First, a female connector that seems to be coming from the ignition key lock, two wires - Red/Yellow Tracer and Green. Seeming to match this is male connector coming from a loom, two wires - Blue/Violet Tracer and Blue/Yellow Tracer.

Second, under the drivers seat, a male connector, three wires - Black, Blue/White tracer, White/Red tracer. Seeming to match this is a female connector, three wires - Black, Blue, Red.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Peter.

Possibly the buzzer for the seat belt? Does the seatbelt light on the dash illuminate when the seatbelt isn't plugged in and the engine is running?
Shiney black one with added red bits. Member of the fart club. Now with extra doof and Sunlong. - deceased and gone to heaven

Thankyou Garry and CT for your replies. Garry you were correct about the seat belt light for the wires under the driver's seat. CT, using the link you posted I able to establish the wire from the ignition was for a \"key left in the ignition\" warning buzzer. Thanks again guys, Peter.
