Was your friends car an MX-5??

NA6 import (ie same as mine) and identical Tein SS.

from looking, springs seem normal. my shock feels good and similar to my fd's and the adjustments seems fine as well.

everyone have NB8C-R GSM40-11531 (F) and GSM41-11531 (R)???

Don't have any knowledge of teins, but your front shock part number indicates an NB8C model, and you're running an NA. I read in your post that they are supposedly the same shock, but that is not the case for OEM, Koni or Bilstein shocks, so maybe you've been misled??

according to the US instruction, the only difference between NA & NB is the reference height. NB being longer than NA and therefore a longer shock.

other than that they seems identical.

can anyone confirm this??

thanks

No, the Tein's appear to be the same for all. Mine said NB but on checking the Tein catalogue they are the same.

Juffa wrote:What I was referring to was the Mazda suspension bushes, not those of the Teins. There are a number of rubber bushes that make up the front and rear suspension. The bushes are located at the various pivot points of the upper and lower suspension arms. I found that if I tighten mine, as described, the suspension will be within a few mm of the final ride height.

Juffa, i think u're onto something. upon further thoughts, the reason that my fd's car wasn't effected was probably bcos he already had lowered springs and bilstein fitted while mine had OEM units.

i'll try to redo those bolts. can you tell me which ones need to be done?

i think for the rear, the one for the upper arm near the brakes is important. which ones for the front? the pair on the upper arm near the chassis??

or i should just do them all??

thanks
Philip

Hey Philip

Wots happening, this is the most interesting thread Ive read in a while. ( was thinking of the Tein upgrade myself )

As Man struggles to overcome the Beast, advice comes from far and wide, Man armed with new plan of attack and a certain amount of mateship attacks the task at hand with renewed vigour. Yet no outcome is recorded. :frown:

I am sure more than me would like to know how you are going, Hope you get it sorted.

the Tein is great stuff despite the problem. i'm more than happy with them.
