Toyo Tyres...who's got/had/used them?

Postby Craig » Thu Apr 06, 2006 1:27 am

Only ever had the RA-1's and as a competition tyre and they served me extremely well, and very tempted with the glowing report Baron has given the R888's!!! 8)
*I just wish I was first, as I was with the RA-1's!*

Anyone running the T1R's by any chance with some feedback at all, as my 2002 build Turanzas are still near new but father time has his hands on them I'm afraid.

Cheers
Craig

Thinking seriously about them Craig. Price is right (a Mars bar under $200 per corner). :D

Have a look in the \"\"\"Tech info bulletin\"\"\" area, answers a heap of questions.

I've had the T1R's awhile now and bought them because I was impressed with the T1S's I had one previously.

They stick well, are good in the wet and are pretty predicable when they begin to let go.

Some people have commented they feel the T1R has a bit of a softer turn in feel, but I guess I’m use to it.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

The T1S's didn't work for me. I thought they were shite, so bad that I ditched them after they were 1/2 worn out. They were attrocious in the wet. Which goes against everything I'd read about them. After the comment about parrallel importing by the Toyo guys last night I'm starting to wonder if I got a parrallel import set. The mob I bought them from were considerably cheaper than the next quote.

Around $25/tyre cheaper from memory. A good saving on 4 tyres, but not so good if they're not the real thing.

I love the T15.

Have had them on a few cars and they 'out stick' everything else I've had. Yet to put them on my mx5 tho (only had it 2 weeks)

I have the R888 for track days and I love them. The best fun is coming home from getting a Wheel alingment ( I love canberra for It's Roundabound's  ) you can go around anyone inside or outside :D.
On the track It knocked 2.5 sec off my PB on a day where everyone was
at least 1 sec off there PB

I went from Bridgestone grid 2's to T1-R's and never looked back. i changed my alignment soon after to suit the t1-r's and they got even better.

Take it REALLY easy, it's gonna take a little while before they become sticky.

Rightio...sounds like a replacement set of R888's in 205/50/15's for my 15x7 race rims, and a set of 204/45/16's for the road car...now just to get a job to pay for my goodies!
