I think I might have to snap up the next sets I see. I quite like the red on red.

it might have some funky arsed piggy backs like a mate import skyline

we took of the kick panel and found a piggy back for the a/f and piggy back for the timing and one for the fuel cut defender and one for some boost control thingy

needless to say although the car did make a fair bit more power than we expected from a totally stock skyline the wiring job wasnt exactly professional and looked like a fire hazard

mmm thats going to be my next point of call - i joked with my mechanic that i may find some wildness where the factory ecu used to be - right before i frowned and said that maybe my other one is down on power due to the short nose crank issue :frown:

ROM upgrades are a lot easier in Japan.

It could also have the timing advanced because of the higher RON Jap fuel.

Or as you say it could have internal mods.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Yup red looks better on red :D

I did the "shaved" side marker mod (Removed all the raised lettering off the markers).

It takes about 15 minute per lens but it's a cheap mod and I think it looks heaps better.

There was a Eunos race car at the tech meet tonight. I was so tempted to get a screwdriver out and do a swap. :)

yeh his gf is a good friend of mine.... he imported that after i imported mine over.

from what i know about the car its pretty much standard besides the intake and exhaust. Its got alot of bracing all over the car which is great and yeh the clutch is heavy but like mine.... i don't think my clutch is standard either... i've dríven standard MX5s here in adelaide before i got mine and it is different. might be some after market thing..

it was considerably towier

Could it be different final drive ratio's? That would explain the sharper (\"throttle\") response wouldn't it?

clutch was heavier and more sudden

she wasnt at full throttle in 2nd gear, when I was, and she was pulling away from me

Could a lightened flywheel account for this?
