Ah...don't worry about Aussie delivery. I just scored one out of the States 5 mins ago for 75 clams. There's heaps on offer. Go feed.

I reckon you'd get it in on the pax side but you'd have to drop the roof. The roof might be able to go back up once you've got the package in the car. Alternative is to unpack it and wrap in a single blanket or large towel. It should go in the pax side OK then. As for putting it in the boot......I'll take Bevan's word for it

Thought I would post my findings in the ebay bars from drifta32 in perth.... as a few people have indicated they are looking at them.... I paid a bit more than the guys getting them from the US ebay but given I didnt have a credit card to put them on and didnt want to do a international bank transfer, it was easier for me to buy them in Aus.

Well... the box fitted in the front passenger side no problemo, roof need not go down to fit them in!

Packaging is disapointing, the guy passes me the box at the PO and 'thump' down it goes metal to concrete

seems the box was not reinforced at the base of the bar, so the attachment bolts were poking out both ends. See pic below.

They are smaller than I expected them to be too.... and I have the RB2 instructions included in the box too

all looks good so far, hopefully we can fit them this weekend :mrgreen:

That's why it fitted in OK. OTOH, the Fedex packing was, shall we say, very substantial and left a lot of room around the bar. You should have no probs fitting it if you follow the RB instructions and the extra info here on the topic. Have fun

just out of interest, has anyone any ideas of the Gs incurred in hitting an unpadded steel tube in a prang?

thanks Amanda - it was a rhetorical question, i have a really good idea of the Gs involved (btw a 60kmh impact equates to 180+G loading measured at the skull, a decent dose of brain damage)

Of course I was looking for a bite, but i did wish to draw attention to the possible hazards involved in looking cool...

i was about to fit a style bar, or even a roll bar for my (road car) -5 but only very recently changed my mind after seeing a track incident. The lap sash belts don't hold us very still in a collision.

I guess it could go either way. They could maybe hit you , or they \"might\" save you in a rollover, and yes I know they are not rollover bars.

On the weekend I took our NA for another spin, and I am sure now that the bar is installed it has eliminated the tiny bit of initial understeer that our car had. Bonus!
