I haven't been in a car with Kings or Eibachs. The Tein's are 6/5kg or 336/225lbs, not sure how this compares to the others, though they are no progressive like I believe the others are. The Tein's have a very wide range of ride stiffness, from quite plush, by MX5 standards, to quite stiff. I found though that even on full stiff it's still very drivable on the street.

12/12, 10/8 is describing the hardness setting I'm referring to front/rear out of a maximum of 16.

Ahah,*smacks forehead* thanks Brad, I get it now.

I suppose I'd have to drive mine and then another NA equiped with an Eibach/Koni combo or Tein setup over the same bit of rough road (any street in Brissy) to compare harshness.

Kings are about 210/165 compared to the Teins which are 330/275. But for some reason the Teins ride better even though the springs are half as stiff again.

OK Brad, I'm up for that on a Saturday arvo or a Sunday. I'm over at Jindalee. I suppose Mt Coot-tha is rough enough in places as is Milton Road. Yes, going to NatMeet (Friday to Tuesday) but not the track day.

Perhaps this is cause the Tein's are designed as a complete unit and they are tested together, therefore the springs and shocks compliment each other :?:

Must be because they are a better ride and have more grip than either the KIng/Koni or Eibach/ Koni combos I have had before. The increase in grip is really noticeable and surprised me, the Eibachs were better than the Kings for grip but these are in another league altogether.

I am delighted with my SS Teins.

Juffa, what are your thoughts on the bushes you use?

I have installed the super pro bushes on last and current 5. They firm up the ride, without increasing the harshness. At around $600 (including sway bar bushes) they are cheaper than OEM. That price is for parts only, I installed them myself. I used heavy duty marine grease when installing them (same as Matty) as it is supposed to help reduce the sqeaking that can occur when using poly bushes.

Like Peter I have had both the Koni/King combo and the Koni/Eibach combo. Of the two I preferred the Koni/Eibach, but after a few months on the Tein Flex I'm sold!!!

I'm really happy with the grip and handling qualities of the King/Koni combo but sometimes feel the ride is a bit rough on cr@p roads. The Teins must be sensational if they have good ride and even better handling qualities.

The Teins are shorter bodied (I think they are 15mm shorter) and seem to have more travel, so they soak up big bumps quite easily.

I was really surprise how little travel there is in them. That said, if you look at the design of the suspension the shock is only located about 2/3 of the way along the arm, so the wheel will gain the extra travel from leverage.

My understanding is that kings only come in 50lbs increments. i am going for 350/250 on the race car.
