You can expect me also, I'm coming from Yeronga, so The Gap is closer for me as well.

Good fun. Good clean run up from Samford. Was pushing fairly hard there to catch the other 3 boosted cars. The leaves on the back side were a worry. Tyre pressures were a bit low and I had a couple of slides. That car gets away a lot quicker than a stock one, so I had to be careful. Never seen so many bloody cyclists up there in my life either. We should find out if Tuesday is a regular thing for them or not, because I don't think either party is too happy about sharing the road with the other. Pity about the traffic on the way down Nebo. One was good letting us all past. Good way to start the day. Will be buggered by lunch time though.

Was good fun hey! Good to see more boosted cars coming out of the cracks. Those supercharges sound great!
I don't have full access here at work, but check out mtbdirt.com(.au), it's a cycling forum I get on, may shed some light on the cyclists.
That car of yours handles Cal!

Great run, I was pretty happy to stick with the boosted cars, although coming back up the mountain I backed off to save tyres and flogging it as I had to push really had to keep up due to lower power. I spoke with a mate at work who's into cycling and he doesn't know of any organised ride up there, though there was clearing something going on. That harness makes so much difference, as soon as I took it off after we came down to the gap the whole car just felt way looser, obviously this is just due to me rolling around in the seat. Have red marks now just on the front of my armpit from them, but i think I'll survive.

I have ridden many times up there. As this is the only decent hill around. You will find the same amount of riders on most days. Even more on weekends. From this cyclists perspective though I like seen some nice cars going hard, and also one can here cars for ages before they pass. So don't worry about us being caught unaware. Its only the drivers who are surprised.

I am a cyclist myself, albeit not serious enough to tackle Mt Glorious. I understand why they ride there and they have as much right to be there as we do. It's just a dangerous combo, that's all. Why do they always yell at us and give us the middle finger salute? I give them miles of room and was even waving my arms in the air to warn you guys behind that we were approaching a pack of them.
It's funny, they have only been going up there for the last couple of years. About 3 years ago I could go from The Gap to the Esk turn off and not see another car, bike or anyone. I'd normally encounter perhaps 1 or 2 cars by the time I was coming back down Nebo. How this city changes. Still get a good run for a while though. Better before the sun is completely up and in your eyes anyhow.

might be time for you to get your a$$ out on the bike with me then Cal.... there has always been heaps of cyclists using these hills. The area is one to AVOID on Australia day, it's full of cyclists, some sort of aussie day race. Today might have just been a 'Hills' training day for a club maybe. not to worry though fellas, sounds like you had fun! and be careful not to put all cyclists in the category of abusive scum.... we're not all like that. In fact it's quite embarassing to think those tools and I share a common interest.

I hope this didn't come across the wrong way? I was agreeing with what mick said about being embarrassed by the way some cyclists act.
Weather I'm in my 5 or on my Trek, either way the hills and curves are for all to share and enjoy.
